Setting client expectations up front

Even when you’ve been injured, a question on your mind is most likely, “What is legal representation going to cost?”

At Gary A. Sernaker, A Professional Law Corporation, fees are negotiable. The standard attorney fee for most cases is 25 percent. If the case proceeds to mediation, arbitration or trial, the fee is 33 1/3 percent.

We typically advance litigation costs on your behalf. Such costs include only out-of-pocket expenses necessary to prosecute your case. They do not include office overhead, such as copying, postage, paralegal services, etc.

Discount for military personnel: 10 to 15 percent

A special note about medical malpractice cases

A different fee schedule applies in representing a medical malpractice case, in accordance with California law.
